The Studio of self-Awareness and self-Realization (SsAsR) is a non-profit NGO which started its activities in year 2002 with the main goal to help different people and communities to recognize their capacities and to find a new and better ways for self realization, psychological adaptation and social integration, to increase level of their life-quality, positive relations with each other and satisfaction at mutual existence by work of professionals of psychology, social and cultural work, training experts and other highly-qualified specialists.

SsAsR is especially focusing its efforts on facilitation of innovative methodology for communities’ guidance and counselling in the aspects of the talking-hearing dimension for the effective communication and collaboration for together-living with an accent on equal opportunities for all social groups. Experts of the NGO have spent a number of years creating methodological programs as well as working with diversities such as unemployed, immigrants and ethnic minorities, with women returning to the labour market, prisoners, drug addicts and disabled.

Organization actively takes part in EU projects in Lithuania as executive organization as well as organization implementing services in creation of the training programs and methods, in practical work with different target groups. In 2007 – 2008m. Studio of Self-Awareness and Self-Realization implemented SPD project gave opportunity to start Palyback Theatre in Lithuania, which had been used as affective and engaging human reacource developmenr tool for almost 30 years. Organization is the member of the International Playback Theatre Network (IPTN: www.playbacknet.org) from 2008 and stands in with the development of European PT communities’ participating in trans-national meetingand festivals.

Since 2006 SsAsR has implemented the project “Development and presentation of the new social methods in Lithuania”: experts of the organization had been involved in studies of PT in USA and Europe, they had established and still developing the first in LT Playback Theatre Group “The Other Side” on the voluntary background. This activity concerns implementation of the innovative artistic methods for social problems and change in communities and NGO’s for the social tasks.
